Teekanne 'Sweeteas'

As a lover of both tea and sweet treats, a combination of the two basically just had to appeal to me. Naturally, I got all excited when I saw new tea creations online which are supposed to emulate the taste of the world's most loved pastries. This excitement was followed by big disappointment when my local supermarket didn't stock them and finally ended with even bigger excitement when I finally found them in a big department store in a city near me.

The new tea range I’m talking about is by the brand Teekanne and was appropriately named 'Sweeteas'.
So far, there are 3 different flavours: Caramel Apple Pie, Lemon Cake and Blueberry Muffin all of which are flavoured fruit infusions.

First of all, I have to say that the smell of all three of these is just heavenly when you pour the boiling water on them. If you closed your eyes, you could literally imagine to be standing in your local bakery! Also, they are all naturally quite sweet due to the stevia leaves contained.
But now, let's get to each individual blend!

Blueberry Muffin:
This blend combines the slight tartness of blueberries with the tenderly sweet note of a muffin - I am very pleased!

Ingredients: apples, hibiscus, rose hip, stevia leaves, muffin aroma, blueberry aroma.

Lemon Cake:
A blend that smells and tastes of a pleasantly zingy and deliciously sweet lemon cake straight out of the oven - Refreshing and satisfying at the same time!

Ingredients: apples, rose hip, lemon cake aroma (8%), orange peel, stevia leaves, citric acid.

Caramel Apple Pie:
The taste of juicy, tartish apples together with luscious caramelized pie is just perfect - a blend that recreates my all-time favourite pastry!

Ingredients: apples (51%), rose hip, apple pie aroma, stevia leaves, caramel aroma.

I definitely loved all three of these with Caramel Apple Pie being slightly ahead.
I would have never thought that a tea could do this, but these can honestly replace an actual treat!

What is your favourite pastry that you'd like to be turned into a tea blend? Or does something like that even exist for you already?

  1. I can't even imagine what my kitchen would smell like steeping these teas - they all sound amazing! For some reason, I'd be really interested in a macaron flavoured tea! Almond tea flavour with some vanilla - yum!! Have a wonderful week, dear ❤

    1. Your kitchen would probably become your very own little bakery ☺♫
A macaron flavoured tea is such a lovely idea - I wonder if something like this already exists somewhere in the world ^_^
      I hope you're having a fantastic week, too! ♥

  2. I never saw these before, but I definitly have to get the blueberry muffin one, because I looooove blueberry muffins (or anything blueberry, really). The packaging is absolutely adorable. Adding stevia leafs to give them sweetness was such a good idea of the company. My favourite pastries are blueberry muffins and they are already on the list. I also love marble cake, but I don't think I'd want to have that as a tea flavour.
Oh and: Today I went to the local supermarket to get the Lindt Mango Lassi that you suggested, but sadly they didn't sell it q_q Hopefull I'll get it, once I'm in town. ♥

    1. You're so right - blueberry muffins are just incredibly good ♪ They probably rank second on the list of my favourite pastries - right behind apple pie, of course ^_^
It was admittedly quite a hunt for me to find these teas somewhere, but I finally got them in a CITTI-Markt ☺ Although I saw that Rossmann stocks them as well now on my last trip to the drugstore!
What a bummer that your supermarket didn't have the chocolate! I have to say though that not every supermarket has the HELLO creations from Lindt and I'm afraid even less have the summer flavours :\ I think last saw them at CITTI as well ^.^''

  3. Wow these sound amazing. I tried a chocolate tea blend and was surprised that it did taste and smell like chocolate. That tea came from a local spice merchant in my area. I love blueberry so I would have to try that tea first.

    1. I've actually had chocolate tea from the brand 'Yogi Tea' before and definitely really liked it as well! I was also so surprised that a tea could come this close to an actual hot chocolate - especially when you add a little milk to it ☺ I guess especially the contained cacao shells make those kind of teas smell and taste so good ♥

    1. It really depends, I have to say. I'm not a huge fan of stevia in sweetner tablets as well but in these tea blends I find that this specific stevia taste really isn't too noticeable at all!

  27. They look delicious! The first thing I judge a tea by is always the smell... that way if the taste isn't nice I can always use the tea to make my cupboards smell nice. :)
Usually I'm not such a fan of sweet teas, although I'm tempted to try out Lemon Cake!
We often use stevia instead of sugar at home, and it's a great replacement in cakes etc. (but it is extremely sweet)!

I guess stevia is a bit of a love-it-or-hate-it-thing. I personally quite like the specific sweetness that it gives, although you should definitely be careful with the dosage ^_^''
